While Avacado Beach on West Madison has always been a staple in Arkansas City, the "Avacado Beach Club" is a newer addition to our area. The club was founded in 2019, but the idea of a club started in 2014 when "Old Man River" Corky Bass passed. A small group banded together to continue his legacy of everyone is family, everyone is a friend, and life is always better at the river. Over the years they have grown to 50+ official members and 100's of others welcomed as guests as Corky never knew a stranger.

In staying with the goal of making life better everywhere they choose different community events or needs to sponsor throughout the year. Their personal favorites are Arkalalah, Trunk or Treat at the old hospital lot on Birch, and Gueda Fest as each one brings everyone together. This past year and upcoming season their goals included joining First Thursday Downtown, the Veterans Day parade thanking those who served, and the Christmas in the City parade because even Santa and Mrs. Claus like to wheel.
